Web Summit currently has event coordinator opportunities available on a full-time basis from September to November 2013. Participants are expected to become active members of the event team, and in return gain the practical experience of working at the Dublin Web Summit and associated events.

Participants will be under a duty to work under the control and direction of the Web Summit Production Team, to abide by all policies and procedures, including safety policies and practices, and to follow the reasonable instructions of management at all times.

Skills and qualifications

Successful candidates will need to have/be:

  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, along with a keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to deal with external companies and agencies with diplomacy.
  • Calm, effective decision making skills.
  • A problem-solver with the ability to think on your feet, react rapidly to situations, prioritise your workload and implement measures to improve procedures and workflow.
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and pressurised environment and juggle multiple projects at once are essential. Effective prioritisation skills are essential.
  • Confident, friendly and professional yet firm.
  • Need to be extremely comfortable with use of PC to coordinate all elements of work
  • A love of both tech and events and the willingness to work hard as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong performance from a top tier college or university
  • Minimum of two years experience in an operations/event coordinator related capacity
Responsibilities
  • Administrative support including typing correspondence, filing, photocopying and telephone work for days prior to the event, the event day and day after.
  • Telephone liaison with contractors, clients, agencies and enquiries.
  • Updating and maintaining databases.
  • Assistance of stage managers on each stage.
